Unit 1: "All about me" (My body)

UNIT 1 (YEAR 1)

Empezamos el curso con UNIT 1 . En esta unidad siguiendo los estándares de aprendizaje el alumno/a:

• Identifica, describe y sabe localizar las partes externas del cuerpo humano. 
• Entiende la función de las articulaciones. 
• Identifica los cinco sentidos y los localiza o relaciona con el correspondiente órgano. 
• Comienza a identificar sus emociones y sentimientos y los de otros compañeros. 
• Con ayuda, selecciona y organiza información específica y relevante; la analiza y alcanza conclusiones; las refleja en su experiencia y su proceso; presenta los resultados. 
• Lleva a cabo con ayuda experimentos simples o investigaciones y establece los resultados.
• Usa estrategias para mejorar su aprendizaje, así como para preguntar para obtener información o pedir ayuda. 
• Comienza a apreciar la importancia del trabajo cooperativo.

En casa podéis practicar con vuestros hijos/as los contenidos que vamos a enseñar en clase accediendo a los apartados de "Let's search" (barra lateral del blog) de "My Body" (mi cuerpo), "Feelings" (emociones) y "Joints" (articulaciones).

Let's learn about the autumn!

1.  Autumn is one of the four seasons. Autumn in 2014 starts today,  23rd September and it will finish 22nd  December, when winter begins. 

2.  It is the transition from summer into winter. 

3.  The weather also begins to get colder and many plants stop making food. Autumn is the time when deciduous trees shed their leaves. The leaves change from green to red, orange, yellow or brown before falling.

4.  Many animals begin to prepare for the winter by storing food in their nests and dens or fat on their bodies.

5.  In autumn, there is less sunlight because the days are shorter.

6.  Pumpkins are a big crop during Autumn.  They are used for pies, soups and Jack-o-Lanterns on Halloween.

7.  Many animals begin to grow warmer coats to prepare for the cold weather following Autumn.
